When a loved one dies
Whether you’re expecting it or not, when a loved one dies, there are certain practical steps that must be taken. Below is a simple outline of what to do when the time comes and how we can help you at this difficult time.
1. Phone your doctor or district nurse; they will visit to confirm that the patient has died.
2. Contact us; we will arrange a convenient time with you to come and collect the deceased.
When you’re ready, we will arrange an appointment with you, either at our funeral home or in your own home to discuss the next steps and registration procedures.

When someone dies unexpectedly at home, the death will be referred to a coroner. You won’t be able to register the death until the coroner has confirmed the cause of death. When you’re ready, contact us, and we will arrange an appointment with you, either at our funeral home or in your own home, to discuss the funeral arrangements.
1. Contact us; we will liaise with the hospital or carer provider on your behalf and make the necessary arrangements for your loved one to be transferred into our care at the soonest possible time.
