Traditional Church Service
With a traditional church service, the family can follow the hearse to the church or meet the hearse at the church for a church service. After the service, the coffin is taken to the graveside in the churchyard or cemetery for the committal. A committal is when family and friends can say their final goodbyes before their loved one is buried. The coffin is then lowered into its final resting place.
Graveside Service Only
This type of service takes place at the graveside and typically involves a short committal service for close family and friends while the coffin is lowered into the grave.
Graveside Service followed by a Church Service
This is the same as a graveside service, but after the coffin is lowered into the grave, the family will join other family members and friends in the church for a memorial service. Typically, this will include hymns, psalms, and prayers.
Woodland Burial
This type of burial, also known as a “green” or “natural” burial, is an eco-friendly funeral option. Woodland burial services are very flexible and don’t tend to follow any religious traditions or protocols. Family and friends meet at the chosen woodland burial plot, and amongst the trees and wildflowers, they say goodbye to their loved one. The deceased (their body or ashes) is committed to the ground in an eco-coffin or urn with a small, personal service.
Sea Burial
As a unique type of funeral, burials at sea necessitate specialised planning and permissions. If your loved one wants a sea burial, we can help you and your family with all the arrangements. We work with professional, specialised companies, ensuring all the necessary steps are taken.
